DESCRIPTION
The HI-8585 and HI-8586 are CMOS integrated circuits designed to directly drive the ARINC 429 bus in an8 pin package. Two logic inputs controla differential voltage between the output pins producinga +10 volt One,a -10 volt Zero, anda0 volt Null.
The CMOS/TTL control inputs are translated to ARINC specified amplitudes using on board zeners. A logic input is provided to control the slope of the differential output signal. Timing is set by on-chip resistor and capacitor and tested to be within ARINC requirements.
The HI-8585 has 37.5 ohms in series with each line driver output. The HI-8586 provides the option to bypass most of the output resistance so that series protection circuits can add their resistances.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The HI-8581 and HI-8589 from Holt Integrated Circuits are silicon gate CMOS devices for interfacing a 16-bit parallel data bus directly to the ARINC 429 serial bus. Both devices provide two receivers, an independent transmitter and line driver capability in a single package. The receiver input circuitry and logic are designed to meet the ARINC 429 specifications for loading, level detection, timing, and protocol. The transmitter section provides the ARINC 429 communication protocol and the line driver circuits provide the ARINC 429 output levels.
The 16-bit parallel data bus exchanges the 32-bit ARINC data word in two steps when either loading the transmitter or interrogating the receivers. The data bus interfaces with CMOS and TTL.
The HI-8581 has 37.5 ohms in series with each line driver output. The HI-8589 provides the option to bypass most of the internal output resistance so that external series resistance may be added for lighting protection and still match the 75 ohm characteristic impedance of the ARINC bus.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The HI-8582/HI-8583 from Holt Integrated Circuits are a silicon gate CMOS devices for interfacing a 16-bit parallel data bus directly to the ARINC 429 serial bus. The HI-8582/HI-8583 design offers many enhancements to the industry standard HI-8282 architecture. The device provides two receivers each with label recognition, 32 by 32 FIFO, and analog line receiver. Up to 16 labels may be programmed for each receiver. The independent transmitter has a 32 X 32 FIFO and a built-in line driver. The status of all three FIFOs can be monitored using the external status pins, or by polling the HI-8582/HI-8583 status register.
