The μPD72002 Serial Communications Controller is an advanced multiprotocol serial controller (AMPSC). The high-performance μPD72002 si a software-compatible, single-channel version of NECs powerful μPD72001 AMPSC. Both the μPD72002 and the μPD72001 have a superset of the functions of the 8530 SCC.
